Sunday, 1st December, 2019: God in Human Likeness – Lessons for Today’s Christians
All thanks be to God for his mercies and grace that enable us to witness the last month of the year 2019. As we conclude our discourse on this year theme Walking in His Steps our Sub-Theme for the month of December is Walking in His Steps: God in Human Likeness.
In todays worship we shall examine God in Human Likeness: Lessons for Todays Christian. For those of us who are born again and understand how our salvation was obtained and given to as a gift from God, when we echo what the scripture says that God became fully man (John 1:14) for the purpose of human redemption is no new or strange thing. This singular act is a demonstration of humility in its highest form that cannot be equaled by any being.
For the first time God tasted what it looks like to be human. He that knew no lack became hungry. He that is unlimited became resident in Bethlehem at a time, and other cities such as Egypt, Jerusalem, etc. at some other time. He that is the source of all strength and power became weary. He is the only one that can fully tell the agony He went through for the period He walked planet earth as fully man and fully God. Our worship today shall point out some lessons we need to learn.
